Complete Venture Group is recruiting a Construction Project Coordinator for a full-time, remote opportunity open to candidates based in South Africa.

The successful candidate will support Complete CDG, a United States construction and development group managing commercial fit-outs and ground-up residential projects in New Jersey.

This is a broad, high-ownership position involving estimating, bidding, project documentation, scheduling, consultant coordination, and vendor and subcontractor management.

The work involves American construction projects, imperial measurements, and United States drawing conventions. The Employer states that it will explain the applicable conventions, but applicants must already know how to read and interpret construction drawings.

Key responsibilities

Estimating and bidding

• Assemble bid packages and issue invitations to bid.

• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications using imperial measurements.

• Compare subcontractor quotations.

• Identify missing work, exclusions, inconsistencies and scope gaps.

• Confirm project scope directly with vendors and subcontractors.

• Support procurement and project buyout activities.

Document control and project coordination

• Track submittals, requests for information, shop drawings and close-out documentation.

• Maintain organised project files, document registers, logs and version control.

• Monitor drawing revisions and distribute current documents to relevant project participants.

• Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes and action lists.

• Follow up on outstanding project information and documentation.

• Track contracts, insurance certificates, change orders and payment applications.

Scheduling

• Build and maintain construction project schedules.

• Prepare and update two-week look-ahead schedules.

• Track long-lead items, material deliveries and trade sequencing.

• Identify programme delays and scheduling risks early.

• Escalate schedule concerns clearly and in writing.

• Help keep projects aligned with key milestones and delivery dates.

Design and stakeholder coordination

• Coordinate with architects, engineers and design consultants.

• Help identify and resolve conflicts between architectural, structural and mechanical, electrical and plumbing documentation.

• Serve as a written point of contact for vendors and subcontractors.

• Follow up consistently on outstanding quotations, submittals and project information.

• Support clear communication between the principal, consultants, suppliers and construction teams.

Requirements

• Practical experience in construction project coordination, estimating, document control or a closely related role.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

• Knowledge of construction documentation, specifications and project workflows.

• Experience preparing or reviewing quantity take-offs.

• Understanding of bid packages, subcontractor quotations and scope comparison.

• Ability to work with imperial measurements and United States construction conventions.

• Familiarity with submittals, requests for information, shop drawings and close-out documentation.

• Strong scheduling, organisation and follow-up skills.

• Excellent written communication and record-keeping ability.

• Ability to identify project risks, missing information and scope gaps.

• Confidence coordinating with architects, engineers, vendors and subcontractors.

• Ability to manage several active projects and priorities.

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Benefits and working arrangements

The Employer states that the opportunity includes:

• Direct mentorship and a daily working relationship with the company principal.

• Exposure to the complete construction-project lifecycle, from estimating through project close-out.

• A development path toward a senior project-management role.

• Twenty-one days of annual leave plus South African public holidays.

Current vacancy information also indicates that employment may be facilitated through a South African employment provider, with statutory benefits, a possible medical contribution, a company laptop, relevant software licences, and an allowance for backup power, fibre internet and mobile data.
