Refund and Cancellation Policy
OPPORTUNITYZA REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Effective date: 19 September 2026
Last updated: 19 September 2026
1. PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY
This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how OpportunityZA handles cancellations, duplicate payments, failed payments, refund requests, unused Employer packages, vacancy advertising services, job credits and manually fulfilled promotional services.
This policy should be read together with the OpportunityZA Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit any right that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable South African law.

• Standard Job Listing
• Featured Job Campaign
• Urgent Priority Campaign
• Three Job Credits
• Five Job Credits
• Future approved multi-vacancy credit packages
• Vacancy Spotlight services
• Listing extensions
• Job refresh services
• Social-media vacancy promotion
• Other Employer advertising and promotional services sold through OpportunityZA
4. GENERAL REFUND PRINCIPLE
OpportunityZA will assess refund and cancellation requests fairly, reasonably and in accordance with the service already supplied, work already completed, costs already incurred and applicable South African law.
Purchasing a package does not automatically guarantee that a vacancy will be published.
Every Employer and vacancy remains subject to verification, review and approval.
OpportunityZA may refuse to publish or may remove a vacancy that is inaccurate, misleading, unverifiable, unsafe, prohibited, unlawful or inconsistent with the OpportunityZA Terms and Conditions.
A decision not to publish a vacancy does not automatically mean that the Employer qualifies for a refund. The reason for the decision and the work already performed will be considered.
5. REQUESTING A CANCELLATION OR REFUND
An Employer requesting a cancellation or refund must contact OpportunityZA at:
Email: info@opportunityza.com
Telephone: +27 81-841-5990
The request should include:
• Employer’s full name
• Company or agency name
• Account email address
• Order number
• Package purchased
• Vacancy title or job ID, where applicable
• Payment date
• Amount paid
• Reason for the request
• Any supporting information
OpportunityZA aims to acknowledge a refund or cancellation request within two business days.
Complex requests, payment-provider investigations or verification matters may require additional time.
6. CANCELLATION BEFORE SERVICE DELIVERY BEGINS
An Employer may request cancellation before OpportunityZA begins delivering the purchased service.
For the purposes of this policy, service delivery may begin when OpportunityZA performs one or more of the following:
• Reviews or verifies the Employer account
• Reviews the submitted vacancy
• Activates a package or job-credit allowance
• Publishes a vacancy
• Begins preparing social-media content
• Requests or processes Employer assets
• Schedules promotional content
• Creates campaign copy, graphics, reporting or related material
• Performs an agreed listing extension or refresh
Where no material service has begun and no significant non-recoverable cost has been incurred, OpportunityZA may approve a full refund, subject to applicable law and payment-provider limitations.
7. CANCELLATION AFTER SERVICE DELIVERY BEGINS
Once service delivery has started, a full refund may not be appropriate.
OpportunityZA may consider:
• The amount of work already completed
• Whether the vacancy was reviewed
• Whether the vacancy was published
• How long the vacancy remained active
• Whether an advertising credit was activated or used
• Whether social-media content was prepared or published
• Whether promotional slots were reserved
• Whether third-party or payment-provider costs were incurred
• Whether the Employer benefited from the service
Where appropriate, OpportunityZA may offer:
• A partial refund
• A replacement credit
• A corrected service
• A rescheduled promotional service
• An account credit
• Another reasonable remedy
The remedy will depend on the circumstances and any applicable legal rights.
8. FOUNDING EMPLOYER TRIAL
The Founding Employer Trial is offered at no charge and does not create a monetary refund entitlement.
The Trial:
• Is available once per verified legal company
• Cannot be exchanged for cash
• Cannot be transferred to an unrelated company
• Cannot be renewed or repeated through duplicate accounts
• May be refused where Employer verification is unsuccessful
• May be withdrawn where the Employer breaches the platform rules
A used or expired Founding Employer Trial cannot be restored automatically.
OpportunityZA may grant a replacement Trial or credit where a verified technical or administrative error prevented fair use.
9. STANDARD JOB LISTING
An Employer may request cancellation of a Standard Job Listing before the vacancy is reviewed or published.
Once the vacancy has been reviewed, activated or published, any refund will be assessed according to:
• The work completed
• The publication period already received
• Whether the Employer supplied inaccurate or incomplete information
• Whether the vacancy breached the Terms and Conditions
• Applicable South African law
No refund is automatically due merely because the vacancy received fewer views, clicks or applications than the Employer expected.
OpportunityZA does not guarantee applications, interviews, placements or hires.
10. FEATURED JOB CAMPAIGN
The Featured Job Campaign includes a vacancy listing and manual promotional work.
A refund may be reduced or declined where OpportunityZA has already:
• Reviewed or published the vacancy
• Applied Featured placement
• Written promotional copy
• Designed a vacancy graphic
• Scheduled or published social-media content
• Reserved promotional space
• Prepared a campaign summary
Where only part of the service has been delivered, OpportunityZA may consider a fair partial refund or replacement service.
Organic social-media promotion does not guarantee reach, impressions, clicks, applications, interviews or hires.
11. URGENT PRIORITY CAMPAIGN
Urgent Priority Campaign services may begin soon after complete information and payment are received because the package is intended for time-sensitive hiring.
A cancellation received after priority review, urgent placement, content production, scheduling or publication has begun may not qualify for a full refund.
OpportunityZA may consider a partial refund or alternative remedy based on the work already completed.
An Employer is not entitled to a refund merely because:
• The closing date passes
• The vacancy receives fewer applications than expected
• The vacancy is filled earlier than expected
• The Employer changes its hiring priority
• Organic social-media results are lower than expected
12. MULTI-VACANCY JOB CREDITS
Multi-vacancy packages may include Three Job Credits, Five Job Credits or another stated number of Standard Job Listing credits.
One credit is used when a vacancy is submitted.
Credits are not automatically returned when a vacancy is:
• Withdrawn by the Employer
• Deleted
• Moved to Draft
• Rejected for breaching platform requirements
• Duplicated unnecessarily
• Submitted with inaccurate or unverifiable information
If changes are required, the Employer must edit the existing vacancy instead of creating a new submission.
OpportunityZA may issue a replacement credit where:
• A verified technical error prevented fair use
• An OpportunityZA administrative error caused the credit to be lost
• A duplicate submission resulted directly from a platform malfunction
• Another fair and documented reason exists
Unused credits are not automatically refundable after the applicable package validity period expires.
Credit packages are not transferable between unrelated Employer accounts unless OpportunityZA agrees otherwise in writing.
13. VACANCIES REQUIRING CHANGES
Where a vacancy requires corrections, OpportunityZA may return the vacancy to Draft and notify the Employer of the changes required.
The Employer must update the existing vacancy.
Creating a new vacancy instead of correcting the existing submission may consume another package credit.
A request for changes does not automatically entitle the Employer to a refund because OpportunityZA has already performed vacancy-review work.
14. REJECTED VACANCIES
OpportunityZA may reject a vacancy where:
• The Employer cannot be verified
• The vacancy is misleading or fraudulent
• Candidates are required to pay a fee
• The application method is unsafe or unverifiable
• The Employer lacks authority to advertise the vacancy
• The content is unlawful, prohibited or discriminatory
• Required corrections are not completed
• The vacancy breaches the Terms and Conditions
Where rejection results from the Employer’s conduct, inaccurate information or a platform-rule violation, OpportunityZA may decline to refund the package or restore the credit.
Where rejection results from an OpportunityZA technical or administrative error, OpportunityZA may provide a replacement credit, corrected service, partial refund or another appropriate remedy.
15. EMPLOYER VERIFICATION FAILURE
Purchasing a package does not guarantee Employer verification.
Where OpportunityZA cannot verify an Employer, OpportunityZA may request additional information.
If verification cannot be completed and no vacancy or promotional service has been delivered, OpportunityZA may consider a full or partial refund, subject to:
• Work already performed
• Payment-provider fees
• Fraud or compliance concerns
• Applicable law
A refund may be declined where the Employer supplied false, misleading, incomplete or fraudulent information.
16. SOCIAL-MEDIA AND MANUAL PROMOTIONAL SERVICES
Manual promotional services may include:
• Social-media vacancy posts
• Stories or status mentions
• Campaign refreshes
• Vacancy Spotlight services
• Promotional copy
• Vacancy graphics
• Campaign summaries
Once production has started, OpportunityZA may deduct the reasonable value of work already completed from any approved refund.
A completed or published design, post, story, video, campaign or report is generally considered delivered.
Refunds will not be granted solely because organic social-media reach, impressions, engagement, clicks or applications were lower than expected.
17. LISTING EXTENSIONS AND JOB REFRESHES
A listing extension or job refresh may be cancelled before OpportunityZA performs the requested action.
Once the listing period has been extended or the vacancy has been refreshed, the service is considered delivered.
Listing extensions do not repeat previously included social-media deliverables unless expressly agreed.
Job refreshes do not automatically extend the vacancy expiry date unless the product description specifically states otherwise.
18. DUPLICATE PAYMENTS
If an Employer is charged more than once for the same intended order, the Employer should contact OpportunityZA immediately.
After confirming the duplicate transaction, OpportunityZA will arrange the appropriate reversal or refund through the payment provider.
The Employer may be required to provide:
• Order numbers
• Payment references
• Proof of payment
• Bank or card information with sensitive details concealed
OpportunityZA will never request a full bank-card number, card PIN, online-banking password or one-time PIN.
19. FAILED, ABANDONED OR PENDING PAYMENTS
A failed, abandoned or pending payment does not automatically activate a package.
If a payment appears to have been deducted but the order remains unpaid or pending, the Employer should contact OpportunityZA with the payment reference.
OpportunityZA may need to verify the payment with Payfast or another payment provider before activating the package or processing a refund.
20. PAYFAST REFUNDS
Approved refunds for payments processed through Payfast will normally be processed through the Payfast merchant refund function or another authorised method.
Refunds may be full or partial, depending on the approved amount and the work already completed.
Refund processing times depend on:
• Payfast
• The payment method used
• The customer’s bank or card issuer
• Applicable fraud and compliance checks
OpportunityZA cannot guarantee the exact date on which a refunded amount will appear in the customer’s account after the refund has been submitted to the payment provider.
Any refund-confirmation reference provided by the payment provider should be retained by the customer.
21. PAYMENT-PROVIDER FEES
Where permitted by applicable law, reasonable non-recoverable payment-provider or transaction costs may be considered when calculating a refund.
OpportunityZA will not impose an undisclosed penalty for exercising a lawful cancellation right.
Any deducted amount will be explained to the Employer where applicable.
22. COOLING-OFF AND STATUTORY RIGHTS
Certain electronic transactions may qualify for cancellation or cooling-off rights under applicable South African law.
Whether a cooling-off right applies may depend on:
• The identity and legal status of the customer
• The nature of the service
• Whether service delivery has started
• Whether the customer requested or accepted immediate performance
• The applicable legislative provisions
• Other relevant facts
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit any right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal right, the applicable law will prevail.
23. NO REFUNDS BASED ONLY ON RESULTS
OpportunityZA sells advertising visibility and related promotional services.
OpportunityZA does not guarantee:
• Vacancy views
• Social-media reach
• Clicks
• Applications
• Suitable Candidates
• Interviews
• Placements
• Successful hires
A package is not defective merely because it generates fewer commercial results than the Employer expected, provided OpportunityZA delivered the purchased service substantially as described.
24. REFUND ABUSE AND FRAUD
OpportunityZA may investigate and refuse an improper refund request where there is evidence of:
• Fraud
• Chargeback abuse
• Repeated use followed by cancellation
• Duplicate accounts
• Trial abuse
• False payment claims
• Misrepresentation
• Unauthorised use of another person’s payment method
OpportunityZA may provide relevant records to Payfast, the customer’s bank, law-enforcement authorities or another authorised party where legally required.
25. CHARGEBACKS AND PAYMENT DISPUTES
Customers should first contact OpportunityZA at info@opportunityza.com so that the matter can be investigated.
Submitting a chargeback does not automatically create a valid refund entitlement.
OpportunityZA may provide transaction, account, package, vacancy, communication and service-delivery records to the payment provider or financial institution handling the dispute.
26. PROCESSING AN APPROVED REFUND
Once a refund is approved, OpportunityZA will:
• Confirm the approved amount
• Record the reason
• Process the refund using an authorised method
• Provide confirmation where available
• Update the order or package records where appropriate
The time required for the funds to reach the customer depends on the payment method, payment provider and financial institution.
27. REFUND DECISIONS
Refund and cancellation requests are assessed individually.
OpportunityZA will consider:
• The date of purchase
• The date of the cancellation request
• Employer verification status
• Vacancy-review work completed
• Vacancy publication status
• Listing duration already received
• Credits already used
• Promotional work already completed
• Third-party costs
• The reason for the request
• Applicable legal requirements
OpportunityZA will communicate the outcome using the customer’s registered email address.
28. COMPLAINTS
A customer who is dissatisfied with a refund decision may request a written review by emailing:
info@opportunityza.com
The request should explain why the customer believes the decision should be reconsidered and provide supporting information.
OpportunityZA will attempt to resolve the complaint in good faith.
29. POLICY CHANGES
OpportunityZA may update this policy when packages, prices, payment methods, fulfilment processes or legal requirements change.
The most recent effective date will appear at the top of the page.
A refund request will normally be assessed using the policy and applicable law relevant to the transaction at the time of purchase.
